🧠 3 Things That Make a Winning Web3 Project

PLUS: everything else you've missed this week online...

Hello and welcome to the Netcetera newsletter, brought to you by the good people at Myosin.xyz — the only marketing DAO with a three-headed content monster in the sky.

That’s at least somewhat true today as Blake, Chevy, and I are currently sitting on the 11th floor of an office building in a very gray and misty New York City. The Myosin Content Guild is gearing up for a post-summer-break return to publishing so, here in our penthouse lair (read: “here at Safary Coworking Day in a Soho WeWork”), we’re plotting the rollout of a series of thought-pieces and knowledge-shares from the DAO’s brain trust.

We return with the latest from Biz Dev Guild co-lead Olly Jones. Read on for Chevy’s intro and watch this space for more in the coming weeks!

How do builders win in web3?

I’m not talking momentarily — I mean long term.

Our guy Olly plugged himself into crypto Twitter and the surrounding internet, absorbed everything it had to show him, and squeezed out some juicy insights.

The result is a list of hard hitting projects that not only survived the last bear market, but have continued to thrive.

Here’s the ingredients to their secret sauce:

  • Don’t shackle yourself to one chain. Playing nice with multiple tech stacks opens your business up to more customers (see: Magic Eden / Wallet Connect).

  • Double down on that effect, by playing nice with web2. The bulk of the market isn’t in web3 yet — entice them over by integrating with tools/platforms/businesses that they’re already familiar with (see: ThirdWeb / Polygon).

  • Play to the lazy developer. Better yet: make developers' lives easier, by giving them market-leading resources, where all of their questions can quickly be answered (see: Polygon).

“That’s nice, but I’m not building in the web3 space — I’m investing…”
— You, probably.

These insights still apply!

It ain’t rocket surgery — if you’re digging for gold trying to find the next 10x token — look for these properties.

And to start, you’ll probably want to get a closer look at what made these projects not only work, but thrive.

And for that, you have Olly’s deep dive 👇

Quick Bites

That's it. That's all we got! Talk next week.
