Want To Become an Effective Builder? First, Become an Effective User...

Netcetera is back for 2024! What’d we miss?

It’s a family affair this week as we return with new media for your eyes and ears straight from Myosin.xyz co-founder Simon Yi and from Seed Club, the much beloved web3 accelerator of which Myosin are alums.

In Netcetera’s first thought piece of the new year, Simon goes deep on the future of work and digital cooperatives like ours, and S2E3 of the podcast sees Blake chat with Jess and Josh from Seed Club on what excites them about the future of “consumer crypto.”

Good to see you again! And for those just joining us, you can catch up any time on Netcetera’s output so far right on our website.

Happy Belated New Year,

Rowan Spencer | Editor-in-Chief

Want To Become an Effective Builder? First, Become an Effective User.

You know that tagline trope in advertising?

“Made by X, for X.” (e.g. “Made by dads, for dads.”)

Yeah, well there’s a reason it’s a trope. We like knowing something has been by someone that understands us, what we’re trying to achieve, and the problems we might face along the way.

(“You are your customer, and your customer is you.” It’s all very zen, no?)

Why’re we waxing philosophical on this?

Cause we just read Simon Yi’s thought piece on digital cooperatives, and some points he made really hit home.

Take Mylo for example…

  • Myosin community managers (CMs) had a problem: managing Discord servers is a pain →

  • The Myosin Product Guild built Mylo (the AI powered chat bot) to lend a hand →

  • Turns out Myosin CMs weren’t the only ones suffering Discord burn out; other companies had a need for such tooling →

  • The Product Guild created a composable Mylo-for-hire.

And the consumer facing product has since been a total hit with customers!

Why? Probably because it was “designed by community managers, for community managers.”

Ah, look at that! We’ve come full circle.

Netcetera Podcast

This week in Season 2 Episode 3 of the Netcetera Podcast, Blake talked to Josh and Jess from Seed Club all about The Future of Consumer Crypto.

Take a listen, and please be sure to subscribe and leave a rating to help us out!

And in the spirit of consumer crypto, we’re very excited to announce that all episodes for Season 2 will now be mintable and collectible on-chain.

All episodes are free to mint and open edition (aka unlimited) mints, on the OP blockchain, for 30 days after we publish.

Alpha: There will be perks for those who collect all mintable episodes at the end of the season ;)

Quick Bites

That's it. That's all we got! Talk next week.
